Sólo faltan unos días para la gran cita. Organizado por Domestika y consolidado ya como un evento ineludible, MAD 009 se ha convertido en la excusa perfecta para soltar el ratón, vernos las caras y disfrutar de ponencias de alto voltaje. Este año además incluye novedades como las Master class o conferencias de nuevas disciplinas como la tipográfia o la ilustración pura y dura. Dfest 09 – Taller de ilustración con Subcoolture
Dfest es un festival sin ánimo de lucro, cuyo objetivo es generar un punto de encuentro y de intercambio entre distintos proyectos dentro de la filosofía DIY. Será del 19 al 21 de Junio y está organizado por La Colectivo y La Central de Diseño/ Matadero de Madrid (lugar donde se celebrarán todas las actividades, que incluyen exposiciones y un montón de conciertos en directo).
Subcoolture participa organizando un taller de ilustración llamado “Mala Letra”. Es gratuíto y tiene como objetivo pasar un buen rato reflexionando sobre ilustración y diseño tipográfico. Para apuntarse o simplemente saber más sobre el evento, puedes echar un vistazo al blog de Dfest AQUÍ.
Dfest is a nonprofit festival whose goal is to create a point of encounter and exchange between different projects within the DIY philosophy. There will be 19 to June 21 and is organized by La Colectivo , and La Central de Diseño/ Matadero de Madrid (where all activities are held, including exhibitions and a lot of live concerts).
Subcoolture participates organizing an illustration workshop called “Bad Letter”. It is free and aims to have a good time to reflect on illustration and typographic design. To join or learn more about the event, you can take a look at the blog Dfest HERE.

La revista Pocket acaba de aterrizar en Madrid con el objetivo de convertirse en la guía definitiva del diseño en la capital. Lo hace de la mano de los veteranos D[x]i con una tirada de 10000 ejemplares que serán distribuidos en escuelas de diseño, librerías seleccionadas, centros culturales y galerías de arte. Es pequeñita, ligera y en su número de lanzamiento incluye una tanda de entrevistas a diseñadores en la ciudad. Entre ellos: Subcoolture.

Pocket magazine has just landed in Madrid with the aim of becoming the guide design definitive in the capital. It’s launched by the D[x]i veterans with a circulation of 10,000 copies to be distributed in schools of design, selected libraries, cultural centers and art galleries. It’s tiny, lightweight and its release issue includes a bunch of interviews with designers in the city. Including: Subcoolture.

Entrevista en Belio magazine
Desde el primer momento (allá por 1999), la revista Belio (y sus creadores Pablo y Javier IA!) me ha hecho sentir como en casa. Cualquiera que haya seguido su trayectoria, ha visto como se ha forjado un hueco entre las revistas imprescindibles dentro del diseño gráfico y la ilustración más experimental. El mes pasado fuí entrevistado por Elena Quintana con motivo de su 10º Aniversario, contribuyendo así a su celebración y charlando sobre todo aquello que hemos compartido durante estos años. Espero que cumplan muchos más.
From the first time (around 1999), Belio magazine (and their creators Pablo & Javier IA!) made me feel at home. Anyone who has followed its career, has seen as it forged a vital gap between the journals within the graphic design and experimental illustration. Last month, I was interviewed by Elena Quintana on the occasion of its 10th Anniversary, thereby contributing to its celebration and talking about everything that we have shared during these years. I hope they meet many more.

Revista Arte y Diseño
Este mes, Subcoolture aparece en la sección de Domestika para la revista Arte y Diseño por ordenador. Para quien aun no lo sepa, Domestika es sin duda la comunidad por excelencia de habla hispana, un lugar donde miles de creativos se dan cita a diario para compartir, señalar e interactuar on-line. Por si esto fuera poco, desde hace 3 años organizan un evento en el que reunen a lo mejor del diseño nacional e internacional, el MAD in Spain, que este año cuenta con la presencia de gigantes de la talla de Antonie et Manuel, Alex Trochut, Pentagram, Interbrand o Trevor Jackson entre muchos otros.
This month, Subcoolture appears in the Domestika section for Arte y Diseño magazine. For those who do not even know it, Domestika is undoubtedly the community for excellence in hispanic speaking, a place where thousands of creative minds gather daily to share, identify and interact online. As if this were not enough, since 3 years ago organized an event that gathers the best national and international design, the MAD in Spain, which this year features the presence of giants like Antonie et Manuel, Alex Trochut , Pentagram, Interbrand and Trevor Jackson, among many others.
